Praying for Frontier People Groups

On the opposite page you will see that almost 33% of the world identifies as Christians, and a third of these are trying to live for Jesus. They can reach out to people around them, including non-believers in their own cultures. So the people groups in these areas are not considered “Unreached.”

The Unreached People Groups are divided into two groups, one with some progress of the gospel (15% of the world) and the Frontier People Groups with no progress (25% of the world). Notice that the Frontier People Groups are mostly in Muslim majority countries and in India.  Half of all the people living in Frontier People Groups are represented by the people groups in this booklet, almost 1 billion people.

Please join thousands of followers of Jesus around the world in global prayer to bring God’s blessing through Jesus movements to these largest Frontier People Groups (FPGs).

  1. Ask God to stir our hearts with His love for the families in these groups. God has repeatedly promised to bless all families of the earth (Gen. 12:2-3, 18:18, 22:18, 28:14, Acts 3:25, Gal. 3:8).
  2.  Cry out to God to send laborers into their towns, cities and regions, as Jesus commanded (Matthew 9:38). Pray for the laborers to see the ripe harvest, those whose hearts the Holy Spirit has prepared to hear His voice (John 4:36; John 6:44, 2 Timothy 4:2).
  3. Thank God that Jesus has all authority in heaven and earth, and as He commands us to go make disciples of all peoples, He will go with us to the ends of the earth and era (Matthew 28:18-20).

Pray for no people group to be left out, but all to be adopted for prayer and outreach (Matthew 9:37-38; 2 Cor. 10:16; 2 Peter 3:9; Rev. 7:9).

  1. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and heart to the needs of each FPG. Look at the photos and ask yourself, “Do I see someone God loves?” Listen and pray until the reality of their life without Jesus becomes a cry of your heart. Our suggested prayers are only a starting point for you. Let God guide and direct you.
  2. Use every opportunity to tell others about FPGs and how they have almost no chance of hearing the Gospel. Share the need with your church, family, friends, neighbors, and even on social media inviting them to pray and advocate for FPGs (see resources page).

We so easily get distracted from the things that are most important to God. The Church gets diverted to focus on itself and its many different programs. and the priority of these two billion people in FPGs slips onto the back burner. Yet FPGs need our time, our attention, our prayers and our resources to bring them to Christ. Pray that Jesus’ blessing would reach all of the FPGs.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
